I am the Walton Chair of Theodore Roosevelt Studies at Dickinson State University,

the Public Historian for the Theodore Roosevelt Association,

and the Senior Historian for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.

I began studying international relations, the presidency, and American culture to better understand how the past connects with our present and future.
